Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized direct client support to clients who have been diagnosed with a Developmental Disability, often with a dual diagnosis and are experiencing behaviour crisis and/or present with complex needs.
  • Work with client in their setting: school; live-in treatment; hospital; family home; the community at large etc.
  • Collect and manage data/daily documentation relevant to the clients’ specific needs, programs and goals.
  • Implement client specific goals, IEP/BSP; teaching based on principles of ABA and other evidence-based practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time strong experience supporting individuals who have a developmental disability with complex needs.
  • Must have a Community College diploma or University degree in a relevant discipline (CYW, DSW, BA, BST etc.).
  • Previous knowledge and experience implementing principles of ABA.
  • Competent with collecting and analyzing data.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required; VSC accepted if within the last 6 months.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C required (must be from a WSIB approved provider).
  • Crisis training (CPI, SMG, UMAB); SMG and UMAB crisis trainings are transferrable.
